Janani Shishu Suraksha Karyakram

Purpose:

To improve the quality of health services available to pregnant mothers and sick children under one year of age.

Reducing maternal and child mortality by providing free transport services.

Health services-facilities available under the program:

1. Pregnant women and up to 42 days after delivery get the following free facilities.
2. Childbirth facility, caesarean section as needed.
3. Medicines and supplies needed during pregnancy and after childbirth.
4. Laboratory tests.
5. Postpartum nutrition (natural delivery 3 days, caesarean delivery – 7 days)
6. Blood supply as needed
7. Free Transport arrangements from Home to Facility, from one Facility to another Facility and from Facility to Home as required for health treatment.

A sick child up to one year of age is provided with the following free facilities.

1. Medicines and materials required for treatment
2. Laboratory tests
3. Blood supply as needed
4. Free Transport arrangements from Home to Facility, from one Facility to another Facility and from Facility to Home as required for health treatment.
