    Family Welfare Programe

    National Family Welfare Program was started in 1952 in India. This program is implemented as per the guidelines of the Central Government. The objective of this program is to reduce the population. Also, the beneficiary voluntarily accepts the family planning system,provides services according to the needs of the society, and the couple gets a child whenever they want. The schemes are implemented as per the guidelines given by the central government.

    Beneficiaries are counseled about the available methods of birth control through the health worker. Accordingly the beneficiary selects the appropriate method from among the available methods. At present the central government is giving too much emphasis on postnatal family planning services.
    Family Welfare Programe
    (Temporary and Permanent Methods):
    The services to be provided to the beneficiaries under the Family Welfare Program are of two types namely permanent mode and temporary mode.Permanent methods include male and female sterilization surgery. Female sterilization surgery includes
    Tubectomy  and Laparoscopy  surgeries.
    Temporary methods include IUCD , PPIUCD , birth control pills, contraceptive injections, etc. There are methods. After the surgery the beneficiary is given the following  benefits.

    A benefit of Rs.1100/- is provided for male sterilization surgery. After Female  sterilization surgery, a benefit of Rs.600/- is given to BPL/SC/ST beneficiary and Rs.250/- to other beneficiaries.
    Family Planning Indemnity Scheme –
    Family Welfare A benefit of Rs. 30000/- is given in case of surgery failure,  one beneficiary after surgery. Rs.25000/- in case of complications during surgery is . In case of death during or after surgery, a benefit of Rs. 200, 000/- is given.

    All Sterilization Female and Male.

    Benefits:

    Rs 250 (Open category) and Rs 600 (ST, SC, BPL)
