Under the National Health Mission, the National Child Health Program has been implemented from 1 April 2013. Through this program, an important step has been taken to promote the health and development of Anganwadi and school children. The main objective is to check the health of the children, treat the diseases found in them in time and prevent them. Children in the age group of 0 to 18 years are examined through this program. In which 4 D’s means, Birth Defects, Deficiencies, Physical and Mental Developmental Delays, Diseases are diagnosed and treated.
The National Child Health Program is to be implemented in the entire state of Maharashtra to screen all the beneficiaries in the age group of 0 to 18 years in the state, all the beneficiaries in the age group of 0 to 6 years at Anganwadi level and all the beneficiaries in the age group of 7 to 18 years in government and semi government schools.
