Introduction-

In the ZillaParishad, whatever schemes are implemented for the people of the rural areas, the works of communication and providing basic facilities are carried out. Some of the important schemes and their details are as follows.

1. Rural Road Development and Strengthening (Heading 3054-2241) :-

Funds for the said scheme are received every year from the District Annual Plan. Repair and strengthening of rural roads (V.R) in rural areas of ZillaParishad is undertaken under this fund. While undertaking the said works, the length of rural roads included in P.I.C.I. of Road Surface Priority List (P.C.I. – 1) are proposed and sanctioned for repair and strengthening.

2. Other District Road Development and Strengthening (Head 5054-4836):-

Funds for the said scheme are received every year from the District Annual Plan. Repair and strengthening of Other District Roads (O.D.R) in rural areas of ZillaParishad is undertaken from this fund. While undertaking the said works, a length of rural road included in P.I.C.I of Road Surface Priority List (P.C.I.1) is proposed and sanctioned for repair and strengthening.

3. Rural Pilgrimage Scheme (C Category) (Heading 3604-0782):-

Funds for the said scheme are received every year from the District Annual Plan. Funds are received annually for providing basic amenities at places of C category status. Under the said scheme, works like construction of access road, separate accommodation for men and women, water supply facility, electrification, construction of parking lot and area development are carried out at the place of pilgrimage.

4. Rural Pilgrimage Scheme (B Class) (Head of Account 2515-2566) 31 :-

Funds are received every year from the Rural Development Department of the State Government for the said scheme. Funds are received annually for providing basic amenities at places of B class status. Under the scheme, works like construction of connecting roads, separate accommodation for men and women, water supply facility, electrification, construction of parking lot and area development are done at the place of pilgrimage.

5. In addition to the above scheme :-

ZillaParishad Level Primary School / Secondary School Construction and Repair, Anganwadi Construction and Repair, Ward Union Building Construction, Veterinary Clinic Construction and Repair, Primary Health Centers. Sub-centre Constructions and Repairs, Tanda Settlement Improvement Scheme, Scheduled Caste and Buddhist Settlement Improvement Scheme, Minority Rural Development Scheme, Community Temple Construction, Graveyard Construction and various works sanctioned in the 15th Finance Commission.

Preparation of estimate sheets, tendering, technical guidance work and payment of payments etc. are done through this department.
